mangia

i ate.

i don't expect to take a nice loss, but then maybe i'll have a big one the next weigh-in. i have been enjoying the food i have had lately, because a lot of the groups i belong to hold their christmas/holiday party while it's technically still winter.

i have made sure i always brought something i could eat to the party. i only ate a small teaspoon of forbidden delights.

but i'm fat.

so i'm starting over.

the diet group made some really good things. i hope to have recipes in my grubby little pig hands soon. i always pass them on to my friend in missouri and she tweaks it and makes her version. she gets food stamps and commodities, so she has pure chicken to work with, pure roast, pure pork. i wish i could find a way to buy commodities.

i guess i'd have to mug some old people outside of the luthern church on thursday.

just below the top ten on the bbl

i'm right near the top ten, maybe the top 10. they ('the skinnys") have the advantage at the moment, as it goes by % of weightloss.

i think i will have an advantage at the end. when they have all lost the weight they need, by week 8, i will still have 4 more weeks to lose weight. i hope this does work at my advantage.

the important part is that i am accountable to someone else and i have motivation. that is priceless.

but i would like to lose weight and become a hottie, not a nottie!

bouncing around

the pool of funds for the challenge has grown to  be quite a large sum, so large that i'm having visions of new furniture floating in my head. uuuummmm, sectional or separate sofa? loveseat or chair? or 2 chairs? leather or microfiber?

i have been very good so far, as eating goes. i need to exercise regularly again. i have arthritis in my knees so walking and a lot of other types of exercise are out. i asked my husband's cousin who is a physical therapist for advice on exercise. she said all i needed to do was bounce on a balance ball for five minutes. it sounded so simple. since it's done in a sitting position, it would relieve the pressure from my knees.

i bought the right size ball, pumped it up and sat down on the ball. i bounced... for 45 seconds, and then i was so winded i had to stop. 5 minutes? NO WAY? once i fell back and while my head hit the wood floors, i wasn't hurt. luckily my ponytail caught most of the blow.

but i kept at it, starting at 30 seconds twice a day. eventually i built up my endurance to 7 minutes. somehow, and i don't remember the reason, i stopped. now i have another ball. but i haven't used it yet. i guess i need to start again. i have some light hand weights i used when i was on the ball, hoping to shrink my guns  angel wings.

i think i will start back with the ball. tomorrow.

who is lard ass?

i am a fat 45 year-old chick who lives in mississippi. this blog was created to document the process of de-lardifying my fat ass.

i've joined a challenge to help me do it. the prize? MONEY$$$$

that seems to motivate me more than anything else.

i will include more info on the challenge later.

i plan to also use this as my food diary. i belong to a local religious-based weight loss group and while it's not a requirement to keep a food diary, it is strongly suggested. somehow i have been very resistant to doing this. but i want to be a success, so i guess i will do it.

i weigh 263 lbs. i lost 35 lbs. last year and 30 the year before. yeah, i weighed 328 at one time. i was sizing out at lane bryant.

i want to weigh 175 lbs.

someday!
